Our investor client purchased this property that was built in the late 1800’s - at one point it was turned into a quad apartment complex. It was previously a two-story single residence. As a historic home, a primary challenge was abiding by the Historic conservation rules. All windows and doors had to remain in their existing locations.  Therefore, we had to design the four apartments from the inside out. Spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms were placed in locations to match the existing window placement. The second challenge was giving two of the units bedrooms with adjoined ensuite bathrooms. Given all the project requirements, we were able to create a quirky, up to date yet historic feel to all of the individual units.
